Type one line. Get a structured task.

PowerTodo is a task manager for people with hundreds of open tasks, several projects and work handed to others. Everything runs from the keyboard, and every task is data you can search, filter and bulk-edit.

Capture syntax

Put markers anywhere in the line. Everything else becomes the title. Plain text works too; markers are optional.

MarkerSetsExample
@nameAssignee. Add several to share a task.@rahul
#nameProject. One per task.#payments
+nameTag. Add as many as you need.+backend
!P0 – !P3Priority: P0 critical, P1 high, P2 normal, P3 low.!P1
due:Due date: when it must be finished.due:friday
start:Start date: when it becomes actionable.start:next-week
~Estimate of the time it takes.~1h30m
\Keeps the next marker as plain text.\#general

Dates accept today, tomorrow, weekday names, next friday, next-week, in 3 days, oct-15 and 2026-10-15. Forms like 5/10 are refused because they mean different dates in different countries. The date PowerTodo understood is shown before the task is saved.

Views that answer questions

Each view exists to answer one question about your work, quickly.

What exists?
All tasks and Projects: every task, nested as deep as your work is.
What matters today?
Today: due, overdue, scheduled and active tasks, kept in separate groups.
What can I do now?
Next: tasks that are not blocked, not waiting on anyone and not delegated.
What is stuck?
Waiting and Blocked: who you are waiting on, since when, and which task blocks which.
What is coming?
Upcoming: future commitments by date, with start dates kept apart from deadlines.

What PowerTodo leaves out

A task manager should help you finish work and leave.

  • Streaks, badges and confetti.
  • Notifications that exist to bring you back. A notification means there is something to act on.
  • Forms. A task is one line of text.
  • "Are you sure?" for anything you can undo.
  • Lock-in. Your tasks export to JSON, CSV and Markdown.

Web, iOS and Android

One set of tasks on every device.

The web app comes first and is built for a desktop keyboard. The iOS and Android apps are native, built for quick capture, Today, search and fast edits on the move. Tasks are saved on your device first, so PowerTodo works offline and syncs when you reconnect.
